An incredible painter on deviantART offered me some really great critique on my painting of portraits. I'm leaving the original up because the rest were done in the same style, but I absolutely love what this painty effect has ultimately done to my picture and I plan on using the technique far more often.

SO. I mentioned some official art. This isnt exactly the cleanest piece Ive ever done but that was kind of the point. Im a naturally stiff and nitpicky artist, especially when it comes to painting and linework. I figured I could get some healthy exercise in at the same time I was getting up some SUPERHERO superhero art.
This is also kind of a homage and wave at Tyshea and Aibi-Cake if you couldnt tell from the style. I cannot tell you how unbelievabley excited I am for Picture This, and watching those two post concept art and listening to them tell about how theyre chugging through all the hardwork just REALLY inspires me to keep going with my webcomic. Anyways, heres a first look at Olivia Los masked outfit as Bandit. |

Heeerre's the next portrait, the lovely Kaya. I used to have her hair in big girls, but that was my own terrible way of transfering that it was more frizzy than anything. When I was painting her, I just couldn't paint her with the huge curls. The fact of the matter was they WEREN'T what I was picturing in my head.

You know one of those characters that you just kind of creatively fall in love with and accidentally start neglecting your other brain babies because this one is just UNGH.
Yeah Logan is doing this to me guys. I think Im going to do portraits like this for all the Furies though, this was really helpful to solidify her facial features. |

So remember the face studies I just posted? Well, thanks to my best friends help (as usual) I was able to come to the conclusion that while those faces were totally Logan, they were totally Logan in her late twenties - to mid thirties.
My webcomic? Shes sixteen. SO HERES A REDO OF HER LOOKING CLOSER TO HER ACTUAL AGE. She is one of those teenagers who look older than they are. Shes just delicious that way. |
