The "working cover" for my current adventure in trying-to-write-a-reasonably-not-halfassed-novel, which is all about transformation, werecreatures, alien diseases and saving the world (haha I make it sound so much better than it actually is).
This is Blink, the reluctant heroine; she WAS a robot, until she crash-landed on a derelict world and a friend turned her "human" (well, laima) to save her life. She's... getting used to it, I guess? _ The wings are a silly metaphor; her nickname is Bee, and that always appealed to my sense of pun. Hence... Honeybee. Probably doesn't help that I have a species of sentient, evolved bees (called "danata") in it either. |

Because I use a calligraphy brush and ink for more of my work these days I've become interested in Youji Shikawa's art style. This week I won an "Art of Metal Gear Solid" art book signed by Shinkawa-sensei, and have been studying his presentation style.
I don't think I'll pursue - I don't want to be an imitator - but it was a fun exercise, and I learned a lot. |
