~~Faerie nights are devoid of the kinds of stars that are common in the human world. However, there are many moths.~~
Did this a few weeks ago; it depicts the significant other's newest character Eve, who also happens to be the significant other of this bastard here. She's a fae loosely based off of a Luna moth and does her magic through sewing and embroidery. Lots of Siouxsie and Cinema Strange were listened to while I was working on this. Fitting, since the title (and the character herself) are based off of a Siouxsie song. Yes there will be a counterpart "Eve Black" image at some point. Done entirely in ballpoint pens over a rough initial sketch on heavy Aquabee sketch paper. 9x12. No references used this time. Character belongs to the partner. |

A rather involved and overdue commission project for the ever-patient and awesome Teiirka. This piece underwent many different iterations and failed sketches before I ended up settling on the final product you see here. Originally I was going for surrealism but it morphed more into metaphor and symbolism, especially regarding the dual natures of many things and the ancient and sacred concepts of spiritual and physical transformation. Order and chaos, rigidity and malleability, nature and civilization, humans and animals. All of these polarities and more are symbolized in this piece. Also as an addendum: her "halo" also depicts the letters for "Oak" "Willow" and "Yew" in the Druidic Ogham script. Ideally I would have put the entire tree alphabet on there but since the former two trees represent masculinity, femininity and life with the Yew as the counterbalance of death was plenty appropriate.
The commissioner gave me a lot of free reign with this; my only parameter was a sorceress in the process of turning into a raven. I wanted to keep the raven motif strong as well as preserve a sort of symmetry, hence the two on the corners. I am immensely pleased with this piece. Quite possibly another one of those benchmark drawings if you ask me. Lots of learning opportunities and breakthroughs. I think the original will go to a good home. Done with graphite pencils on 11x14 natural white Strathmore drawing paper. So, this was requested by the very kind, very talented [link] to give to his crush, so of course I had to do it, I owe him massively anyway...it took 4.5 hours of staring at sea critters and edelweiss flowers, with ballpoint pen and soft pastels, he wanted it not disgusting, but I think I might draw more things like this in the future, monsters, I mean

Watercolored ACEO I'm pretty fond of this one, was thinking of the artist "Synnabar" while I was painting him! Really limited colors too, since all I had was watercolor pencils me.

So I've been thinking of making a logo for a while and this is what I came up with. The horns and wings symbolize Nabyss, one of my OCs who will basically be the poster boy for my works. The symbol in the center is my artist signature. The name itself is a play of words.
nABYSSNAL.heARTS Nabyss' name can be seen in it as well as abyssnal, hearts, and segmenting of hearts, arts. Also note the wings make a heart-like shape. I had a lot of fun making this for myself during my boring wait to start my work day. |

Hey guys, so Red and Nam drew their muses, and Sop was telling me about his, I last drew my own, mister Caldu, 4 or 5 years ago, and, well, Ive improved a lot since then, so I felt he deserved a better representation.
This is very personal to me, by the by, so yeah For those unaware, muse in this context is a term applied by creative people to their source of inspiration and ideas. Its also used by RPers to refer to the character that they play, but thats not the use here. Caldu is a shape-shifter, but the scarecrow-like form is his default, and has been constant. Hes a gangly, mischievous little shit, carrying a lantern as a guide through the recesses of my mind. He brings back fireflies as ideas, and the purple in his hand is magic. Any time one tries to tie him down, he vanishes along with whatever he was tied to. The form in the back is the form hes been assuming lately, I dont know what it is, but its cute. It grows roots from its toes, and has black smoke around its waist. Theres more I could say, but Im being yelled at to take the kids to the mall, so thisll suffice. This is my muse, and I love him. |

I've had this done for a while just haven't really gotten to posting it. (: She's wearing a mask on the left side if you can't tell // and it may look a little off because of the scaner, I decided to do this in a "novel" like sketch book for some reason. Enjoy!

My half of a trade with Frostberries of their lovely character Mycota! It changes shape, and it can change what sort of fungus it's head is and what sort of ungulate it's body is. Being Canadian, I decided to make Mycota Canadian too! So I chose the indigo milk cap for the fungus and pronghorn antelope for the ungulate. And then I sorta threw in some Corruption from Terraria and Giant Mushrooms from Minecraft... I don't even know.

this was ooooodles of fun to colour, cos the design let me keep a really simple shading style and thats what i've been wanting to do lately, so i finished this up in a pretty short time *_* the character drools glitter or so i threw sparkly things and stickers on it :B stickers like these are $5 dollars, i'm starting to realize that paying less is kind of a rip off to me x____X sorry everyoneee |
