Sphere guardians: Jayven   by Sploof
One of three main characters in a story I'm writing. I plan to do similar pictures with the other two. You can see their hands in the corner. He is not the protagonist/viewpoint character.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out; this is my first drawing done with markers now that I know how they actually work.

His name is Jayven, and he is a chimera. Chimeras are one of three main humanoid races in his world. Chimeras are made by combining humans (or in extremely rare cases, elves) with a monster's sphere shard. The actual details are long and complicated, so I won't bother here.

I really like this - both the marker coloring, and the character design. The cloth folds are well done, too.

Ooh, saw this on the front page and thought it was rad. Didn't realize it was actually yours until I checked my inbox, but... :D

Yellow sclera. <3

He's a snake boy :3, for as much as human anatomy allows snake features. Hehehehe

Yeah, those are a bit hard to reconcile. XD BUT I LIKE HIM MORE NOW. I'd be interested in reading this if a. it's in English and b. you'd be interested in sharing it. C:

oh dude it's no problem! (also everything I write is written or at least translated into English because of my sordid love affair with the English language, for which I'll gladly ignore my Dutch parent)

er I mean the thing which is still in the process of being written is on my writing livejournal, or more specifically here: http://sploofwrites.livejournal.com/4291.html#cutid1 (although at the time of writing, snakeboy's only just been introduced)
