Pegusus/Hippocamppus Greeting Card   by SilvariaKiralv
The first of a series of cards my mother asked me to do. All of her greeting cards are cat-themed, so I made all of mine horse themed. :)

Completed entirely in Photoshop CS 5.

Actually, a Hyppogryph is horse and eagle; the one you depicted is a Hyppocampus/Hyppocamp (sorry, mythology nut)

But I think it fits together well, I love how the backgrounds represent each species; color scheme and element, and how they balance each other out, pose and color scheme.
The white border kinda draws my attention away though.

Thank you for the feedback!! I realized I misnamed it as I was driving home haha!

Do you think the image would look better transparent? Or should I flush the colors to the edge of the image?

You're welcome!
And I'm not sure, maybe just take a little of the white off the bottom (unless it's a specific size). Are these getting printed?
I think because of the strokes it would look odd transparent, flushing the color might look good though.

Hmmm, I could maybe work on making the clouds/water flush with the bottom and sides. They will be printed, yes, though most likely on white glossy photopaper/cardstock. I'll see how it looks either way!

I really appreciate your feedback!!

Well printed, it might look fine as it is xD
Just have to see I guess :3
Good Luck!

You're very welcome! Glad I can help!

I really think the image look great as it is now. (non transparent)
As the white distances the centres of the drawing from the surroundings, and reduces the need of contrast and shadows.

It's a really beautiful picture. :)

I love it and the symmetry between the two - I would love to use this as a greeting card! I do admit my eye is drawn more strongly to the pegasus than the hippocamp; I think it's because the figure/background contrast is stronger with the pegasus, so darkening the bg on the hippocamp's side might help. They flow together nicely - the use of the tail and wings to balance things works very nicely.
